going green

Hi, I hope to continue going green up here in the hills. Have gravity water system for years. It was alot of work by many. It has been working fine for 5 years and supplies 4 houses and a air stream. Thats no pumps for them!! I think the hardest thing about going green is MONEY! But I have to do what I can when I can. Not wasting things. I am slow but steady saving to buy a solar array. Remember to put those savings up to buy things that will save even more. I watch the green channel to get tips. Its great but all those folks have more money than we do. On this blog, by the way this is the first time I have done this! I will try and pass along cheap ways to go green and save money too. Please give me tips too. Gotta run for now. Back later, J Smiley

Welcome to the wonderful world of blogging. Which of the candidates in the upcoming presidential election do you think is best for environmental concerns?

Hi Jade, Well Barock seems to have a better plan. Its gonna hurt comeing off of oil. I think we have to do it. I've been hearing wasington folks talk talk talk about doing something for a LONG time. Hope something will really happen this time. Gonna be really hard cause of all this wall street stuff! I learned that play money does not do much. I still have some. Still can't spend it. Thats what out dollar will amount to. Will watch debate tonight. Take care, Smiley

I think you're right, John. Barak does seem to have a lot more on the ball environmentally than McCain, but once in office, THAT will be the evidence of the next president's environmental intentions.

Remember that early in the Bush Administration, he appointed former NJ governor Christine Whitman as head of the EPA. Well, Christy wasn't the most well-liked governor to the residents of NJ but she did get high marks for her environmental stance. Unfortunately, when she told the administration what needed to be done to protect the environment, Bush and his cronies chose not to follow her suggestions, but chose instead to get rid of Christy Whitman.

I guess we will have to wait and see...
